This is the spring of geese – they have taken over all the wetlands of our town! There are so many, everywhere, with goslings of all ages and sizes. And although we give them a wide berth, they are a joy to see in action with each other and with their families. But I love that when I look at the geese, I remember to look at the environments around them with fresh eyes – including the neighborhood ponds that I’ve seen almost every day for twelve years. The ponds are small and unassuming – you might not even notice them if you drove by them, or if, say, you walked past them almost every day for twelve years. But they sparkle! I’m so glad to remember how sparkly those ponds are!
